The Daily Kelly - Day 136

I always feel like I look the best when I feel the worst... how weird is that? I'm not sleeping... at all. Blah.

The Daily Kelly - Day 134

Today my boyfriend and I went to South Carolina to have dinner with his parents and his brother for his brother's birthday. I don't know why I decided to take this pic in my office since I totally didn't work today...

The Daily Kelly - Day 133

Crazy exhausted and sore all over... just laying around watching TV. Calli decided to stretch out too. Yes, this was taken on my iPad.

The Daily Kelly - Day 132

This morning I woke up in my hotel room and was conveniently two exits away from the ASPA meeting I was supposed to host. I got up, had a nice (free) breakfast at the Holiday Inn, and moseyed on down to the meeting.

I also forgot to take a selfie today... I had an extremely tiring week, okay?

After the meeting, instead of sitting in traffic for the rest of my life, I went to a new restaurant called That Pie Place. They only serve pie. For realz. It's SUPER good. Not gluten free, but they will make you anything you want inside phyllo dough. They also have one of those monster Coke machines, those are always fun.
I ordered green peppers, onions, cheese, and pizza sauce as my main entree.... soooooooo good.

For dessert, I had the s'mores pie. It is entirely possible this is the best thing I have ever eaten in my entire life.

You have seriously got to go there. I checked out their website and while they only have one location right now, it is listed as store #001, so hopefully there will be more soon. http://thatpieplaceusa.com/

After my fantastic meal, I had to run home and sign my new lease. My landlord called and said if I didn't sign it today then they would renew me month-to-month which is a couple hundred dollars more a month, which is a load of crap. I rushed into their office and had to pee (traffic was awful!) when I walked into the bathroom, the floor outside in the hallway was dry, and there were no wet floor signs. I slipped and fell (hard). The entire floor was sopping wet, apparently the neighborhood pool that's by the office shares that bathroom (I've never been to this pool). I cut my arm up pretty bad and my wrist is really sore. No one in the office seemed concerned when I told them I'd just wiped out in their bathroom. My clothes were visibly wet and everything. I seriously don't want to renew here again. Anyone know a fairly inexpensive, safe place to live with decent internet access?

Once I actually made it to my apartment, this was waiting for me... I am a little confused by the for Retina Display on the packaging and then the special sticker saying it does not fit the retina display. I am too tired to take a look at it tonight to see if it will fit mine.

The Daily Kelly - Day 131

So this post starts in the middle of the night. We had a lot of work to do to get ready for our last day of camp.
Here's the WonderTwins working hard in the hotel lobby:
Across the table, our intrepid core team member... (j/k, she really was working)
Team WonderTwins had the unique opportunity of sending our "track" (all the stuff from camp) on to its next camp where one of my travel partners from last year would be acting as Field Lieutenant. He's also obsessed with Taylor Swift and Duckface.
So Greg will receive this signed note from "Taylor" inside a Twinkie box in Tampa. Fun times :-)

Here's a shot of all the amazing employees we had at camp. We also got a full camp shot (all the employees and all 200 Junior Agents) I love those shots! This was such a fun camp, and despite having a low number of employees there (especially considering it was a huge camp) everything went super smooth.
Our employees were also given a very special piece of GSSA history. The patches that the Junior Agents earned for coming to camp! They also had to say the GS pledge and become honorary Girl Scouts to earn their patches :-)

Dinner tonight found us at the little italian restaurant Shook and I found on setup day again. This time I had both the cream soda and the birch beer. Yum.

The Daily Kelly - Day 130

I was caught in the hallway at camp! This picture looks oddly cropped because it is, I removed three kids. I'm sooo not going there by posting kids from camp online.
If you haven't noticed it by now, I love weird signs. At this camp, I noticed several that were odd. The first one is the only one that was actually done by GSSA, I guess we were having a multi-purpose classroom directions and wet floor sign.
I had just rewritten all of our signs this morning, I have no idea how this one became so beat up in just a few hours. I guess 200 kids walking by you a few times will do that do any whiteboard :-)
I wonder how many people it took who went looking for room 125 and ended up in the closet before someone made up the sign. We spent a lot of time in 125 and there really wasn't anywhere good for them to put the sign adjacent to the actual door.
But I really really want to!!! I saw this cabinet door any time I walked into the room we'd commandeered for our employee break room. It was so tempting.
For dinner tonight, we were all so exhausted we ended up at Outback. We thought it was pretty awesome since one of my travel partners got crap for going to Outback during a camp last year. Even though he wasn't with us on this trip, we still sent him a screen shot :-)

The Daily Kelly - Day 129

Yay! Today was set-up day for team WonderTwin's first camp of the GSSA 2013 tour. Woot!
We're doing a Girl Scout camp, which is really cool for me because before I was a Field Lieutenant, I did three years of local GSSA camps with this same group. The girls have changed, but their leadership is the same, so it's awesome getting to work with familiar faces.

Just as our employees were getting ready to leave for the evening, the Girl Scouts brought in their Junior Agent's snack for the next day... Girl Scout Cookies. They kindly gave our employees several boxes and we kidnapped their (sealed) boxes too for a Cookie Monster photo shoot. Here is team WonderTwin:
After this, we headed out shopping again, then to Fedex, and all those other errands you have to run for camp. By the time we got around to hunting down dinner, it seemed like every place in Alpharetta was closed. It was crazy, it wasn't even 8pm yet and most restaurants either closed at 8 or 9. We finally ended up at a random italian place. It was totally awesome, small, and yum.
Plus, they had really good cream soda.
Their portions were also massively massive. I didn't even make it half way through my food and I was nearly in a food coma. This was not posed at all, I was too tired to pick up my head. Too full.
After dinner, we headed to Kroger to hunt down Skittles (it was an ongoing battle this summer, finding individual packs of Skittles) and just as we gave up and got in line with out other purchases, there was a man in front of us who was buying... wait for it... Twinkies. We didn't know they were back out yet. So we went looking for Twinkies. And on the way to Twinkies, we found the individual packs of Skittles we had been looking everywhere for (oddly, in the school supplies).
Thank you Mr. Twinkie Man.
Once we finally made it back to the hotel, our work wasn't done yet. We still had to approve Junior Agents for camp. We had a corpy party in my hotel room with my partner and Patricia. Here's the lineup:

The Daily Kelly - Day 128

So today was my "travel day" for my first camp for GSSA 2013... I had to drive all the way to Alpharetta, GA. I know, how did I possibly make it? The best part of today was meeting my travel partner for the summer. It's like we were separated at birth. I kid you not. We will henceforth be known as the WonderTwins. My partner, Shook, and I, along with our core team member Patricia, hit up a ton of local stores to recruit employees for camp today. And now they know why I am staying in a hotel that's only 20 miles from my house. We went to the store that is closest to my house and it took us about two hours to get there and about three to get back. Yes, Atlanta traffic stinks.

Here's a selfie I took when my travel partner and our core team member left me sitting at the dinner table to go take a conference call outside. I figured it was already awkward enough with me sitting there all alone looking like the rest of my party had dined and dashed on me, so I figured I would just add a selfie to the fun.
Every other travel team (we're the last to start traveling) has a traveling monkey mascot. Ours didn't arrive on time, but while we were picking up supplies at Wal-Mart, we saw this little guy and decided that a WonderTwin shopping selfie was in order :-)

The Daily Kelly - Day 127

So the new hair.... still not entirely sure how I feel about it. Here I look kind of punktastic.

This one's blurry, but at least I look happier :-)

The Daily Kelly - Day 125

Today started out crappy, literally. My downstairs neighbors let their dog poo anywhere. Today, it was right outside my front door. GROSS...
So then I headed into downtown Atlanta for lunch at the RWA (Romance Writers of America) Conference... only I was supposed to be there yesterday. Epic epic fail. I don't feel so bad for myself, I sat in the Marriott lobby and got to do some amazing people watching (I'm a book person, people were walking by that I know from the back of book covers, too awesome!), I feel super bad that I stood up an author yesterday.
On a positive note, the Starbucks at the Marriott carries the Mallorca Sweet Bread that is nearly impossible to find. Noms.
Here's a random selfie as I'm leaving the Marriott to hike back to my car. I do not know who those ladies behind me are, maybe they're famous, I don't know and the picture is too blurry. I wasn't paying attention when I took it :-)

After all this I went and wandered around my local library. I found this book, it pretty much sums up my day. lol.

The Daily Kelly - Day 124

Does this smile look a little crazypants to you? That may be because the monitor behind my head, the main monitor set for Corpzilla, my work computer, says this:
Yeah... epic fail. First mistake? I called the helpdesk, that guy (not one of the usual ones we work with) got me locked out of my whole computer instead of just the one program I was having issues with, but he helped me reset everything and it's working correctly now.
I also made creme brulee. Noms.

The Daily Kelly - Day 123

Great news! I finally got the demon possessed blu-ray player replaced. Best Buy called me while I was working today, so as soon as I got off I ran (cautiously, in my car, lol) over there. I was so excited that I even bought a new Blu-Ray movie to go with it. Warm Bodies is one of my favorite zombie books of all time and I didn't get to see the movie in theater so I'm excited to see the movie on my new blu-ray player.

So I took it home and set it up and (for the first few minutes at least) it has been awesome. No time to watch my new movie tonight... but soon.
Slightly exhausted, but done! Yay! (Yes, I even take awkward selfies with electronic devices. I like to think it's saying it's Loaded with Fun :-))

The Daily Kelly - Day 122

Today I went to Athens to spend some time with my boyfriend.
Here I am getting ready to leave for the long drive home... (I hope his neighbors enjoyed my awkward front yard selfie)

Then on my way home it rained and then cleared for a bit and the sky looked like it was on fire. This picture doesn't nearly do it justice.

The Daily Kelly - Day 121

This morning I woke up to a scary sight...
Yes, that's right, the kitties have figured out how to get the latch unhooked from the screen panel keeping them out of my office.

Here's Cokaya being cute and loving (note that she's sitting on the couch, Cokaya is very rarely standing on any soft surface, if she gets on a couch or bed she immediately lays down).

And here I am being weird. And I have the wild hair. lolz.

The Daily Kelly - Day 120

Today was an early morning. I had to be at the chiropractor at 8am... here I am getting ready to leave the house:
I got to the chiropractor's office early, so I decided to go next door to the library branch (not a branch I have ever been to) and return some books that were in my car. Lo and behold I come across this... a freakin' book vending machine. Holy wow. This thing has got be to just about the coolest thing I've ever seen.

After getting the beat down from the chiropractor, I headed to PetsMart for some kitty food and stopped by to look at the kitties the rescue that was there today had for adoption. I have two cats, which is the maximum for my apartment, but I always love seeing the animals. Well, I was walking by the cage of one and thought "Hmm... that looks like Cokaya"
Then I got closer...
 And closer...

Holy crap! Look at those eyes. This cat was eerily like Cokaya. Nobody from the shelter was around while I was talking to her and taking her picture, but I really am a little curious about where she comes from since her paperwork mentions her mom and littermates. My Cokaya was a stray that was found wandering the streets of Bishop, GA with a pack of dogs by Animal Control as a kitten. They told me she was wearing a very nice collar but that nobody contacted them about a missing kitten so she went up for adoption and the rest is history. I hope this kitty finds a good home.
