Today my boyfriend turned 30… on the 30th. Kind of a big
deal, and a great coincidental date too. More exciting things from today: Calli
(my older cat) went to the vet, and I finally finally finally got my new
glasses! Yay!
I was going to try and organize this post, but I think
chronological order is the best way to go…
Calli is allergic to plastic, and a good traveler, so she
wears a harness and leash when she leaves the house instead of going in a
carrier (I know there are fabric carriers out there, I just don't have one).
Here is Calli getting ready to leave the house:
As I was getting dressed today, I noticed there is a giant
bruise on my thigh, I have no idea where it came from, nothing in my house is
at that height on my leg and I do not remember running in to anything. It is a
mystery.
It was way too foggy for me to take any pictures on the
way to the vet's office in Athens, it's a shame because I changed clothes
several times today (due to the cat hair) and totally missed this outfit, lol.

Yay! My left eye's not blurry anymore. My right eye still is, but it's a bit better. |
Once I made it to the eye doctor's office for my
appointment, I got my new glasses before my appointment because they were
running behind.
While I was waiting at the eye doctor's office, I played a
round of What's the Phrase? and won, and it was the best phrase I've seen on
there.
After my appointment, I finally made it to my boyfriend's
house.
Here is a picture of his birthday present, it is tied
together since I knew I was traveling with Calli and didn't want to be picking
up his presents from my floorboard.
Here is a picture of him opening his presents… with a pocketknife:
After he opened his presents, we went and played with his
dog Lola, who is still very much a puppy. I brought her a new toy, and the two
of them played with it for a while before we went out to lunch. Here's a picture:
Lola was madly in love with her toy. She even took it in
to her crate with her, and she never ever takes toys in with
her, they have to be given to her.
After playing with Lola, I went and picked up Calli from the
vet's office. The vet did all sorts of blood work on her since she is getting
up there in age and she has lost a couple of pounds (which is a really big deal
with you weigh less than 10 lbs.). Everything came back totally 100% normal, he
even told me that she's much more healthy than most house cats who usually have
something outside of normal parameters due to their diets and lack of exercise
(just like humans). All of this was a
huge relief for me.
Here she is when we got in the car:
Here's a video of her talking on the way home. It's not that
great since I was focusing more on driving than I was on taking the video.
Once we got home, my boyfriend met us there and walked up to
my car, Calli growled at him when he started walking up and then she got really
excited when she recognized him. It was totally cute, she hopped out of the car
and just let him walk her on the leash.
Here is the exterior of Turner Field....
The Braves won, the Nationals lost, and it was really great.
I ate
way more junk food than I should have, including:
1. Peanuts
2. Frozen lemonade
3. Some of Kendall's french fries
4. Cotton Candy
5. Dippin' Dots Ice Cream - bought when I couldn't find funnel cake, but then...
6. Funnel Cake (which we took about two bites of and threw away).
