The Daily Kelly - Day 53

Today my boyfriend turned 30… on the 30th. Kind of a big deal, and a great coincidental date too. More exciting things from today: Calli (my older cat) went to the vet, and I finally finally finally got my new glasses! Yay!
I was going to try and organize this post, but I think chronological order is the best way to go…
Calli is allergic to plastic, and a good traveler, so she wears a harness and leash when she leaves the house instead of going in a carrier (I know there are fabric carriers out there, I just don't have one). Here is Calli getting ready to leave the house:
Oh the indignities.
As I was getting dressed today, I noticed there is a giant bruise on my thigh, I have no idea where it came from, nothing in my house is at that height on my leg and I do not remember running in to anything. It is a mystery.

It was way too foggy for me to take any pictures on the way to the vet's office in Athens, it's a shame because I changed clothes several times today (due to the cat hair) and totally missed this outfit, lol.
Yay! My left eye's not blurry anymore. My right eye still is, but it's a bit better.
Once I made it to the eye doctor's office for my appointment, I got my new glasses before my appointment because they were running behind.

While I was waiting at the eye doctor's office, I played a round of What's the Phrase? and won, and it was the best phrase I've seen on there.
What's the Phrase?- That's What She Said
After my appointment, I finally made it to my boyfriend's house.

Here is a picture of his birthday present, it is tied together since I knew I was traveling with Calli and didn't want to be picking up his presents from my floorboard.

Here is a picture of him opening his presents… with a pocketknife:

After he opened his presents, we went and played with his dog Lola, who is still very much a puppy. I brought her a new toy, and the two of them played with it for a while before we went out to lunch. Here's a picture:
Lola was madly in love with her toy. She even took it in to her crate with her, and she never ever takes toys in with her, they have to be given to her.

After playing with Lola, I went and picked up Calli from the vet's office. The vet did all sorts of blood work on her since she is getting up there in age and she has lost a couple of pounds (which is a really big deal with you weigh less than 10 lbs.). Everything came back totally 100% normal, he even told me that she's much more healthy than most house cats who usually have something outside of normal parameters due to their diets and lack of exercise (just like humans).  All of this was a huge relief for me.
Here she is when we got in the car:

Here's a video of her talking on the way home. It's not that great since I was focusing more on driving than I was on taking the video.

Once we got home, my boyfriend met us there and walked up to my car, Calli growled at him when he started walking up and then she got really excited when she recognized him. It was totally cute, she hopped out of the car and just let him walk her on the leash.

Once we got Calli settled, I changed clothes again and we headed to Atlanta for a Braves game.

Here is the exterior of Turner Field....

The Braves won, the Nationals lost, and it was really great.

I ate way more junk food than I should have, including:
1. Peanuts
2. Frozen lemonade
3. Some of Kendall's french fries
4. Cotton Candy
5. Dippin' Dots Ice Cream - bought when I couldn't find funnel cake, but then...
6. Funnel Cake (which we took about two bites of and threw away).

The Daily Kelly - Day 52

Yesterday morning I finished off all of the breakfast food in the house and didn't have time to go to the grocery store, so this morning, when I was scheduled to work early and didn't get off work until after 1am this morning, I had to go out and get breakfast.

Here I am in an awkward outdoor, neighbors taking their kids to school right in front of me, selfie with my breakfast goods. I hit up not one place but two (the second bag kind of blends in with the wall). I now have noms for both breakfast and lunch. It'll be a bagel for lunch, but still a lunch.
Doesn't everybody take pictures of themselves with their breakfast food?

The Daily Kelly - Day 51

Today is going to be a long one. It's all good though. I got up and did a couple of loads of laundry this morning. I noticed the tag for my new shirt:
One Shirt. No Shoes. No Service. ... Not for use as pants.
How awesome is this? I love random little surprises.

Other than my laundry surprise, I've just been working today. Here I am on the way back into my office after a quick break:
I look irked at myself for stopping myself to take a picture,  lol.

The Daily Kelly - Day 50

So last night was totally not cool. My neighbors were doing things in the area between our apartment doors that were totally not cool and, due to the craptastic weather stripping around my door, I got to experience it all with them.
I had to work for most of the day today, but when I got off at 9:30, and realized Home Depot was open until 10, I rushed over there and bought a weather stripping kit and a fancy door sweep (the bottom piece). Then, because my neighbors are already super annoying and my non-obnoxious neighbors appear to be out of town, I went ahead and installed it at 11 at night.
Before
When I went to remove the old weather stripping, I ended up raining pollen down over myself and discovered that the quality craftsmanship in my apartment also includes the use of nails, caulk, and masking tape to install weather stripping… you know, the kind that fits into a precut groove? Yeah. I ended up having to use Goo Gone, a knife, and a hammer to get that stuff down.
What a workout! And getting a face full of pollen and several years worth of ick left me extremely red in the face.

After cleaning everything up, the new one went up without any problems. The door sweep took a little more effort since the holes weren't in the same spots so I had to find my drill bits (they had wandered off) and then drill pilot holes to get it all installed. But now I don't see light around all sides of my door when it's closed. Yay!
After
It's okay if you can't spot the differences. It's one of those things that is much more noticeable in person.

The Daily Kelly - Day 49

It's Friday, Friday!
I had a meeting for SECoPA today… and then, in typical Atlanta fashion, I got stuck in traffic on the way home.
Here's a picture of me looking all casually professional and stuff:

After that I just lounged around the house for the rest of the day. I cleaned a little, but mostly just chilled. I have recently started playing games on my cell phone again… which I know is a waste of time, but it's a semi-social activity and I work from home… I need some social interaction.

In case you were wondering, I cannot draw. Here's an example from a game with one of my cousins:
Draw Something: Dance

I'll admit it; I did this one on purpose for my sister. SMH indeed :-)
